Who is K&K?
K&K was founded in Munich in 2018 by Anna Schölß and Gabi Blum as one of the first initiatives in the context of art and care. It now plays a pioneering advisory role in numerous other initiatives in German-speaking countries that have been established in subsequent years. Thanks to the empirical and highly practice-oriented research that K&K has conducted since 2018 through its networking and exhibition work, there is now a broader basis for discussion in the debate on art production and care work. K&K operates at the intersection of artistic collective and political initiative and has created an important platform for artists with care responsibilities in recent years, organizing exhibitions, discursive meetings, actions in public spaces, and sending out regular newsletters. All actions focus on networking, collaborating on projects, and pooling information. K&K works closely with sister initiatives kunst + kind berlin, Mehr Mütter für die Kunst (Hamburg), fair share! Sichtbarkeit für Künstlerinnen (Berlin), mothers*, warriors and poets from Stuttgart, and others to improve working conditions for artists with children and other care responsibilities. K&K currently maintains a growing network of 170 artists from the greater Munich area. Anyone can join the group. Simply send a short email with information.
