TRANSFORMATIONEN

TRANSFORMATIONEN arose from the comprehensive transformation processes initiated by the repurposing of Schlehdorf Monastery. It originated from an initiative by Anna Schölß, an artist who was one of the first studio users at Cohaus Schlehdorf Monastery in 2018. Fascinated by the complexity of the processes set in motion by the conversion of the monastery building, which in a sense also reflect current trends, she decided to curate the TRANSFORMATIONS exhibition. Over the years, she has developed a close working relationship with Johannes Hochholzer, who, as managing director at the time, played a key role in converting the former monastery into a place to live, work, and learn. Each year's theme focuses on a concept that represents an area currently undergoing change and upheaval. Selected regional, national, and international artists present their perspectives on the respective theme. TRANSFORMATIONS highlights the opportunities hidden in the fractures and non-places and uses artistic means to gently reveal different ways of rediscovering the hidden value of these places and themes.
