The laundry room is a historically charged place, as it highlights the unresolved conflict surrounding care work. In the laundry room, I combine fragments of two installations that were created in different phases of my life. The work traces a semi-fictional biography of a female character who, in different phases of her life, grapples with the classic and still relevant social and structural issues that women face—from the search for identity and (living) space as a female-identified person and artist to the role attributions associated with motherhood.
